Wonderful quality that you can Feel! The venerable Gorham Silver Company is the maker of this STERLING SILVER sauce boat with attached drip plate. I used it for adding a drops of Cointreau or Grand Marnier for fruit, or fruit dressings, to hand pass around the table. The perfect size to use for HOT sauce or warm mint jelly. Keep it handy. Many uses, and not only for formal use. Approx. 7" long x 4" wide x 3 1/8" tall. It has a small detail of a trail of Acanthus leaves on the top of the handle. The 'well' on the plate serves its purpose. Keeping the linen CLEAN. Substantial weight and balance for its size approx. 189 gm. Well-marked on the base. Gorham (company hallmark) #690. I have used it for at least the last forty years, time for a new home, and fresh entertaining. Some spotting on the drip plate seen in last photo. Can be washed in the dishwasher, but hand washing is preferred. Rinse out quickly after use if using for Hollandaise. Egg and strong vinegars react to sterling.
