    Description

We are working as partners in conjunction with Gettysburg Relics to offer some very nice American Civil War relics for sale.
THE BATTLE OF GETTYSBURG, PA - FROM A RARE LOCATION IN LIMITED NUMBERS - CEMETERY RIDGE / THE WOODS BEHIND THE PENNSYLVANIA STATE MEMORIAL AND TANEYTOWN ROAD - THE ROSENSTEEL COLLECTION -  A Small Iron Artillery Shell Fragment
This small iron artillery shell fragments (measuring about 2 1/2" by 2" by 1/2" thick and weighing 5.1 ounces)
was found on Cemetery Ridge between the Pennsylvania Memorial and the Taneytown Road. We do not have much left from this location in our inventory. These artifacts were a part of the collection of Iva Rosensteel-Rider (Born in 1887 and died in 1964), sister of George Rosensteel (founder of the Gettysburg National Museum and the famous Electric Map) so the provenance could not be better. This is the first time that this artifact is being offered for public sale and I feel very privileged in the opportunity to offer it. The Rosensteels were, of course, the most famous artifact collecting family in Gettysburg and the bulk of the relics on display at today's Gettysburg National Park Visitor Center come from the Rosensteels. A signed provenance letter will be provided with this relic.
    Thank you for viewing!
