    Undoubtedly, the most visited canal-side house in Amsterdam is Prinsengracht 263. This is the location of the famous "Achterhuis", where Anne Frank (1929-1945) and her Jewish family went into hiding. Since 2010, more than a million visitors per year visit the house. It was built around 1740 and is located near a famous church, the Westerkerk. The KLM House shows the front part of the house facing the street. Behind this is a courtyard and the famous back section, the "Achterhuis". You can easily see Anne's hiding spot from the tower of the Westerkerk.
